Dear CAPS,

I am sure many of you are football fans.  You are likely also fairly active internet users, since you are in CAPS.  I lack a television set, but I love my Green Bay Packers.  Typically I watch all my television online these days, through programs like Boxee.  This actually is pretty fantastic, I can usually choose what show/movie I want and when to watch it - it is "the future".

However, with NFL season, I am always in trouble.  Last year I had XM radio at least, this year not even that...

Do any of you know a way to watch NFL football through streaming video (within the US)?

I know this is off-topic and not investing related.  But it is a "crisis" of equal magnitude to the financial meltdown of 2008 (to me).

Rof,

NFL.com has an awesome video and audio package. Live games, multi screen.  Choice of commentators.  I'm pretty sure it's available in the US, but I get it overseas.

I've been using StreamDirect for most sports and thus far have been able to get every game of the first two weeks (plus preseason):

I don't have a TV because we got rid of our last one about two years ago, around the time period of the digital switch.  Mostly I just think normally television is both a waste of time and room space (we had a big CRT tv).  I live in a pretty small place - mostly I'm saving money and putting the bulk into investments while possible.

And, typically on a normal day, I can get most shows I would want online.  Most PBS, Daily show, comedy central, MST3k, etc - all of those are online.  Man even all 10 seasons of SG-1 are online.  So, not owning a TV, you can still catch lots of television (if you have an internet connection).

One weird thing I've noticed since ditching the TV:  A television becomes the center of gravity of a room.  It takes up a wall, and everything in the room becomes organized about it.  Kinda weird.  Our living room instead has no center (maybe the window), and the walls are all bookshelves.
