Containing the oil spill in a tropical storm is BP and America's worst nightmare scenerio and that is about to come true next week.

P.S. (I own PUTS in BP), its gonna get alot worse before it gets better because the spill is ongoing.

Just keep in mind that storms caused the delays in the 1979 Mexican oil spill to take 9 months to cap.

I agree.  I hate to be profiting on the demise of our brothers/sisters in the gulf, but I am short as well.

BP headed to $0 for the patient.  There are too many problems that have yet to surface (pun intended).  Let's hope for the sake our country that BP somehow pulls off a miracle and closes down this well.  However, I fear that the way of live in the GOM is destroyed for next 50 years or more.

Note the similarity between Carter's Hostage Crisis and Obama's Oil Disaster, hopefully it won't be 400+ days and a new president before it gets stopped.

With respect to the mexican oil spill, this is larger and more problematic.

 Ok; hurricane.

1. 100+ miles per hour winds. Pulls contaminated water up, as rain deposits it on the land.  Water and food supplies contaminated.

2. lightning from the storm ignites the gas/ oil portion. Fire. The fire would be nightmare proportions.

Katrina would be a pebble compared to the outcome to such a scenario.

Worse yet. The sea floor is weakened to the point where the pressure above is less than pressure below. A breach of the ocean floor, think underwater volcano of oil and gas that man could not contain.
