so in a matter of 1 1/2 weeks we could have eliminated 2 months worth of gains.
How come its so much easier to lose gains than it is to make gains??
We are in a bear market--you know that right? Those lows won't hold. We'll probably do a sucker bounce first though.
Good question though......I have watched my particular stocks fall precipitously on low volume....and watched them rise very slowly on high volume. The ups and downs do not seem proportional to volume. What's up?
carcass, lots of people want to sell, few want to buy. Thus no buyers step in as stocks plunge, but when stock starts to recover there are lots of jaded sellers unloading. Such is the pattern of bear markets, long slow rallies followed by sharp fast declines that take things to new lows.
"wow"? - the only people suprised at this are the pollyanna permabulls that have been losing people a great deal of money over the past couple of years.
