Responding to this - on my blog because I wasn't able to post a comment on Valyooo's blog.

I agree, Sinch sounded a lot like a paid shill, pumper, con artist, etc. And I think he may have been associated with Bill Murphy from GATA.

Sinch posted his final TMF article in March 2013.

In September 2013, someone with the same name, "Chris Barker" took a job as a director of Quest Minerals.

Chris Barker had previously worked as a consultant/associate/shill for  Management Consultants.

From what I can gather, there is a Chris Barker who worked in the mining industry from at least 1999-2006 and from 2013-present.

The Chris Barker on TMF was active from 2007-2013.

Chris Barker worked for a number of different mining companies in various capacities. From Businessweek:

Mr. Christopher J. Barker, also known as Chris, served as the Executive Project Development Manager at Macraes Gold Project in New Zealand, and served as the Co-ordinating General Manager of the Ashanti Mine operation and major expansion project in Ghana. Mr. Barker served as Chief Operating Officer of Eurogold Ltd. until January 2006. He has held executive management positions with major mining companies that include Chief General Manager at Anglo American and Ashanti Goldfields; General Manager at TiWest Minerals Sands project north of Perth and Consolidated Rutile Ltd, the largest minerals sands mine in Queensland. He has played a similar role in base metal mining in a major nickel project in Australia and a nickel and chrome mine in Southern Africa. He has held executive general management positions for a number of other Australian and multinational companies. Mr. Barker is a highly experienced mining management executive in both mining and industrial engineering and has extensive operational mining, project development and exploration experience in Australia and internationally. He has an extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of mining from geological resources evaluation and geo-technical assessment, to all operational mining and processing production aspects. In addition, his experience on mine evaluation, project feasibility studies, project planning and scheduling and capital project control and project development are highly acknowledged. Mr. Barker served as Chairman of LionOre Nickel since 1999 to 2003. He served as Chairman of Great Southern Mines Ltd. since 2001 and Kairiki Energy Limited (aka: Yilgarn Gold Ltd.) since 2001. He served as Director of Quest Minerals Limited from September 18, 2012 to December 19, 2012. He served as Executive Director of Eurogold Ltd. from July 13, 2004 to December 31, 2005 and as it Non-Executive Director from January 1, 2006 to July 28, 2006. He served as Director of Lionore Australia Nickel Ltd. of Lionore Australia Nickel Ltd. He served as a Director of a number of mining companies including LionOre Nickel since 1999 to 2003 and Great Southern Mines Ltd since 2001. He served as Director Yilgarn Gold Ltd until December 18, 2001. Mr. Barker is an experienced management consultant and mining engineer and is the principal of a management consulting group specialising in the mining industry. Mr. Barker has extensive experience in the Former Soviet Union ('FSU') and was appointed the general director of the second largest gold project in Russia at Nezdaniskoye for the initial stage of the project development. Mr. Barker holds certification to run operations in the FSU and has both resident and work permits for the Ukraine.

Sounds like a guy who knows his business. That doesn't mean he knows where the commodity will go.  I am and always will be long gold/silver the metal.

#3 Sorry, I meant p = 0.05 = 5%. At the current speed it is certainly doable :)

I see a lot of experience from a management and/or operational perspective.  I don't see anything that involves investing or finance.  Why was he writing for The Motley Fool, exactly? Why wasn't he a writer for "Learn how to manage mining assets, daily"?

Knowing Chris personally, I will add he is not currently a mining executive in Australia. He runs a dance studio in Rhode Island. Totally different guy.

You could be right... but it's strange that the mining director named Chris Barker didn't seem to be doing anything (except consulting) from 2007-2013, which is the exact time when Sinch was active as a writer.

Biopharma looks interesting. Maybe I'll follow zzporte with a small investment. But after looking at the chart for IBB, I feel pretty stupid getting in at this point.

It's not an uncommon name. This is his new job:

I disagreed with most of his investing ideas, but there's no conspiricy.

Not what I expected at all. And it's strange that on the dance studio website he looks about 30 years older than Sinch's profile pic.
