We are in the middle of silly season. The market is meandering like a piece of tissue paper blowing in a bullish breeze.

So to add a little lightness to the Holiday Season, I wanted to share a picture that amuses me a lot. Our cat got a catnip stuffed crab for Christmas and within 2 minutes he tore one of the felt pupils off the poor crabs eyes

So I have the line "One-Eyed Crab" stuck in my head, to the tune of Brown-Eyed Girl of course :)

Just sharing a little bit of binv's insanity. Be thankful, this is just one post. I have to live with myself every day .... :)

Very interesting. I gave Doodles the Cat a Santa toy filled with catnip and he tore off Santa's foot and beard in a matter of seconds.

motley, LOL! yep, cats sure are "agressively happy" with catnip toys. Maybe is irrational exuberance? :) But we have a stocking for our cat, and he loves sticking his head in and fishing his toys out. Good times for the whole family :)

LOL!  As soon as I read the title of your blog I was thinking "that sounds like a parody of Brown Eyed Girl".  I've done a bunch of parodies of that one myself.

As for cats over the holiday season, my wife didn't take care of the ear piece for her cell phone and they (or likely just one of them) chewed the cord into 3 pieces.

LOL! Yep, sounds like my cat too. He (like most cats) loves shiny things and string. And if there is shiny string.... When he was a kitten, he got into our Christmas wrapping box and found the really shiny ribbon. He comes out of the room walking kind of sideways. So I start pulling on the string in his mouth ... and pulling. ... and pulling. He swalled 5 feet of ribbon!! Got a nice messy present at the end of the string too :) So now we have to be careful which presents we leave under the tree at night. LOL! Thanks man :)

Option1307, You're not kidding! We used to have catnip in our back yard, but it kept attracting all the neighborhood cats so we stopped :)

amassafortune, Hey amass! LOL!

Tastylunch, LOL! Dogs and cats, investing together, mass hysteria ! :)

Thanks all, and Happy New Year to everybody !!!..

outoffocus,

LOL! I hear you. I love doing seafood on Christmas. Two years ago was grilled lobster and asparagus, last year was a Cioppino (with lots of mussels and clams), this year was a Louisiana shrimp, white fish, and crab claw meat gumbo (with lots of jalapenos). Man, it was good!!..

Anytime I hear someone going on about crab or lobster I'm reminded of an uncle I have who was born and raised in Newfoundland.  He said that back home all the rich kids brought peanut butter sandwiches to school because crab and lobster was considered to be welfare food. LOL!

kdakota630, LOL! Yep, seafood is special anywhere it is not abundant. I have family that lives in New Zealand (my aunt married a Kiwi) and they think of Abalone they same way. Well, not quite welfare food. But if you have Maori friends you can get it very cheaply locally. But it fetches a very high price anywhere else in the world :)..

You guys! Now, thanks to this conversation, I just got back from the market with 2 Dungeness crabs and a pound of tiger shrimp. I will feast tonight and whatever is left will go into a hot cheese and crabmeat dip for New Year's Eve.

When I was young our cat Blacky was lathargic for about a week before we took him to the vet.  The Vet's diagnosis was a bowel obstruction and he ordered an cat enema. 2 days later Blacky passed a woman's Timex watch without the band.  I am not making this up the watch was still ticking.

Holy cow! That's impressive :) Takes a licking and keeps on ticking, that's for sure :). .... I guess that applies to both the watch and the cat !! (except the watch takes a licking and the cat gives a licking) ... :) ..

We have a dog toy, a stretch monkey, that my dog adores.  After much wear and tear, the monkey had several holes where stuffing was starting to come out from the monkey's face...so we sewed it back together, and now affectionately refer to the horribly stitched up toy as "FrankenMonkey".
