Get Ready for Annual Pay Cuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your choice....get fired or take a pay cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- AK Steel Holding Corp. said late Thursday it will begin laying off salaried employees as orders decline because of the poor economy. In December, AK Steel said it would cut pay for salaried employees by 5% and freeze benefits. The company said all plants and offices will be affected by the layoffs, but did not specify how many of its 1,500 salaried employees would be affected.

Get ready to crash through 7%.....the number may actually be shocking if the bs BLS accounts for birth/death adjustments fairly.......

Interesting times indeed.

Get ready for rents to drop even further.......

After rising for several years, rents in the Los Angeles area are declining because of the economic recession and depressed home prices, researchers, real estate agents and property managers say.

The lower local rents match a national trend, according to a report released Wednesday showing apartment rents fell in 54 out of 79 U.S. metropolitan areas in the fourth quarter of 2008. Softening rents add another obstacle to a housing market recovery, economists say, because tenants with low rent payments feel less urgency to buy a home.

Falling rents, falling home prices, falling wages, rising unemployment, rising vacancies, rising distressed inventory.............does this sound like inflation to you???

Prepare.....DON'T Despair!!!!!

Yep, my company hit too.  We took the lay-off approach, no pay cuts for us.  30% or around there.  Some in my industry did the 10-20% pay cut route.  Not sure which is worse.

As for global economy, I live in one of the global emerging markets and it's starting to be felt here, but not as bad.

Alstry - did you even have a job to begin with? I think not.

Laughing at people who are either getting laid off or getting pay cuts is downright disgusting. Despicable.
