I haven't had any biggies were I did a head thunk afterward.  Of course I'm still young, there's still time.

I try to build a position over time and when I "think" it's time to sell I reverse by selling portions over time. If I sell 1/4 of my full position and the stock starts rising, then I still have 3/4 working for me. Otoh I sometimes wish I sold more faster/sooner. live and learn. W

My most regrettable sell was Transocean: RIG.

I made money on my trade but I left more on the 'Table' than what I took off!

Well, the first stock I ever bought was Cisco Systems about  sixteen years ago.  I sold it two weeks later for a 30% profit.  If I had held it until 2000, I wouldn't be working now.

I sold my Ultra Petroleum in 2002 to buy an SUV.  If I had held on a few more years, I could have paid for my house.

I recently sold my Continental Resources after a double and then it doubled again within a couple of weeks.

For every stock like these, there have been probably five other stocks that I would have been in a world of hurt if I hadn't gotten out when I did.

WM052 thanks for the idea.  You certainly live and learn, but we can all learn a lot from the people around us.
