Zimbabwe Criticizes the U.S. on Inflation

December 03, 2011 – Comments (2)

No, this is not an article from The Onion.

The U.S. dollar is labeled as inflationary and its stability is questioned by Zimbabwe's Reserve Bank Governor Gideon Gono.

Obviously, Gideon Gono is in a perfect position to criticize Bernanke on inflation; after all, which other central banker can boast he/she is responsible for 231,000,000% inflation and the subsequent collapse of his/her country's currency?

Let me end with a photo of Zimbabwe's 100 Trillion Dollar bill.

I want to buy a few of those $100 trillion bills just for the novelty of it.  I just haven't gotten around to it yet.  Perhaps after Christmas (unless someone has remembered to get them for me as a present).

Same here. They're selling for around $5 now on websites such as eBay, probably more than they were ever worth in Zimbabwe.
