ZLC, Zales Corp., was my pick for chimpcontest# 2, which started on 3/23/20010 (#3 is still going on).
I don't know how many of you know this, but my ZLC pick ended the contest third from the bottom of the 100 entries. The only two stocks that performed worse than my ZLC pick were now famous IKAN and CIIC.
That was very, very embarrassing, to say at least.
Now, please take a look at the ZLC's chart to see what happened to this stock since the chimpcontest# 2 ended on 9/13/2010 (ZLC's price at that time was $1.71):
What do you think? Not a bad run, right?
That's 145% gain from the chimpcontest# 2 closing price of $1.71 (today ZLC is at $4.19).
I'm too lazy to go through all the chimpcontest#2 picks, but I have a strong suspicion that no other stock from that portfolio of 100 stocks had such a great run since the contest ended.
Or, in other words, I wasn't really wrong about ZLC, its' just that chimpcontest ended at the time when I actually needed it to start. Floridabuilder had a very bad timing, that's all. I just thought you need to know that :)
