+ Watch AAPL
on My Watchlist
From iPods to iPhones to MacBooks, Apple uses its “think different” approach to reframe computing, communication, and more.
Going to $1000+, Apple will put Microsoft's monopoly in late 90s to shame. Just their iPhone 4s is still superior to anything the competition has (spare me the hate mail)... I just don't see anything coming close to them given new launches of iPhone5 and iPad3 (the real 3).
SImply compare the Sales to the Samsung Galaxy SII and the new SIII. Its the first time Samsung has sold more than Apple and looking at the trend its obvious that Apple is loosing more and more market share. Iphone used to be a status symbol, but since now everyone has one people start to look at the facts of a phone.
Last I checked (as in a few weeks ago) it was iOS gaining on Android et. al. The sales comparison would only be valid for S2 vs iPhone 4s. We'll see how good the S3 is against iPhone 5 :) iPhone is still a status symbol -- especially iPhone5 with a bigger screen and all. I can guarantee you it will sell out faster than iPhone 4s... Apple has built a reputation like Honda and Toyota .... people buy their stuff without even looking. As far as facts are concerned, I'd say on paper Android phones always look better but in terms of overall product Apple is by far and large a better investment. They have the best apps. They have the best UI and HW design. They have the best screen in the world IMO (simply packing more pixels on a screen doesn't make it better like Android manufacturers seem to think, I suggest reading about Apple's technology and trying out an iPod 4th gen or iPhone4s) and a processor / RAM combo good enough to drive their graphics at 60 FPS or better at ridiculously low lag (the iPhone keyboard response time is a feat of engineering ... trust me, ask any competent person in the mobile graphics field). I don't care about specs, I care about the final product and they have it.
