FDA advisory panel meets Nov. 29 to decide for approval of the Xience stent (heart stent). Abbott could turn out to be a leader in the drug-coated stent market.
In 2007 rising sales of Abbott's blockbuster Humira (RA drug).
Abbott's pipeline is full with late-stage products, including Simcor (cholesterol drug) that could hit the market in 2008.
Vascular intervention products account only for 5% of the business revenues, but sales will double in size in 2008 (Morgan Stanley)
