Even before Waxman-Markey passed in the House, Ameren was on TV in the Quad CIties area talking about how they will be raising their prices for energy. While this will boost their profits, I think it will have a negative impact on their stock.
They don't (in these commercials at least) seem too interested in trying to improve and use renewable energies, but do seem interested in keeping things the way they were-- or penalizing their customers for the change.
