Not typically an S&P outperformer, but current valuation speaks to the confused market.
Is it an airline stock, then it's bad to own!
Is it an investment company, then it's bad to own.
Does it depent on big-ticket purchases/financing, then it's stupid to own.
Unfortunately for this company it's branded by "association" even when the associations don't make sense. It's leasing side makes money when airlines aren't buying. It's selling side makes money when they are. When fuels up airlines tank, but AER doesn't fly the planes, and better fuel efficiency on new planes makes them valuable. There is money in some places...when you can lease planes to Dubai you have the market breadth to fly high.
Finally, while the January Rally hasn't been as strong in recent years, beaten down small stocks have the best upside!
