AFFX should bottom in the $7-8 range over the next 3-6 months, and those prices should attract an acquiring party (or at the very least, a change in strategy or management). I think this peak in ILMN and troth in AFFX was an over-reaction to rather dramatic quarterly drama. ILMN won this season, but AFFX still has market share, an interesting IP portfolio and access to high opportunity markets. Theoretically, their remaining niches/shares of the market, increasing global presence and improved operating efficiency, should allow for some mild revenue and earnings growth over the next four quarters. Keep an eye on the legal meter.
