This stock provides a great dividend because of it's company structure. It has been beaten down along with the market. Don't expect the stock price to take off but collect a nice dividend. The investments that this company makes are a little opaque to me but it looks like they are conservative and take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

I will cautiously second that recommendation. I say cautiously because it appears that several of their big purchases in recent years have been in the financial sector, so there could be some prolonged weakness or even some disastrous derivative exposure there within some of their holdings. But the dividend is great, I've held this stock for over 2 years, and have no thoughts of selling even though it's down for me now... because with dividends factored in, I'm still way up. But I think a savvy buyer could do well to purchase just half a position now, and another half perhaps in mid-2008 when the markets have a better idea of the cumulative fallout from the subprime/credit/derivatives debacle. :)
