Here's a good case of where I get conflicted. Investor? Employer? Citizen? Daughter? Senior? For 3 years, I've pretty much been in the "I'll take care of Mom and Dad" mode. In so doing, I see where Medicare is cutting, where Home Care providers are cutting, and how little the actual home care workers are getting. It verges on exploitation. I get angry. But, I guess cutting costs makes stockholders happy. ALC is moving towards Private Pay clients (ie rich) and away from Medicare patients. I understand from a business point-of-view. Management seems strong and proactive in this growing sector. All this is gonna be good for business. But, I hate to think 10-15 years hence when I may need some help.I guess the Foolish way to deal with this is to make Loads of Profits off ALC so I can be a private pay client in the future!!!!Consolidation is the only catalyst I can foresee in the next 12 months.
