technicals seem to indicate it's in a downtrend--duration more of a guess--airlines as a sector is beaten up--p/e too high for an airline

Alaska Airlines has been steadily adding routes (Denver, Boston, DC, Orlando, Dallas, Hawaii) to its huge West Coast network. They seem to be in a good position relative to the many struggling major carriers.

Others in alaska are starting to give up on the market. UAUA has gone to a seasonal only service to ANC. I think that ALK has beated most of the market in the pac northwest and will continue to be a steady force there and in california.

Primarily shorting this because I have a bearish outlook on airlines in general. No matter how well-run they are, the economics of the industry are dismal.
