Simply, it will take 1-3 years after the combination of Alcatel & Lucent to fully realize the cost savings and for the two companies to integrate operations. Alcatel's IP division is poised to carry the company for years and has far superior offerings to Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, and others. If ALU ever decides to make a core router, CSCO and JNPR will lose market share.
