AMD has far superior processors to intel, but intel doesn't only deal in computer processors and intel has far deeper pockets to reach into should these pricing wars continue. These price wars are going to sink AMD. The only real winners in the pricing wars are the PC makers. Now they can make the same computers for less money, but they seem to be charging consumers the same amount which lends to increased profits......look to the PC makers to win in the next few years due to these super cheap processors.

I like AMD, and use their chips in my personal severrs, but their processors are not "far superior". On the high end, the AMD Opteron has been on the losing side of most performance metrics since Intel shipped Woodcrest. (I analyze the latest-greatest chips for performance at the instruction level, running linux-like workloads.) AMD Barcelona may be very interesting, but Intel will benefit from quicker movement to 45 nm process.
