I love amd and their cpu's, but I think the new intel conroe chip could swing the home cpu market share back towards them.

You're probably right over the short term, but I believe that AMD will continue to trump INTC over the long haul. I lack faith in INTC's management team...and their engineering team. If you hold INTC...good luck!! For your benefit, I hope that you are correct.Tom (trueblue)

I am sure that we will see AMD put out goods that will show up Intel's latest offerings in the not to far off future. But in the long term AMD will move forward for It's ability to think out of the box and do thing that Intel just can't Like buying out ATI. Like the new Torrenza initiative

I share your concern, but I think that AMD might have finally turned a corner in the marketplace. I'm going to maintain my optimism.

Exactly the same feeling here. I am a full time software developer and hardware enthusiast. For a long time, AMD was the engineer's choice and Intel was the "just want a PC" choice. But now Intel have come back fighting with an Core2 Duo. It's their first CPU for a long time that wins on technology, not just because of Intel's vast marketing spend.
