Despite dual-core and coming quad-core processors, Intel is still the 'big gorilla' in the processor market. The harder AMD runs the behinder it gets.

I'm sitting here on my behinder laughing! Intel is mighty powerful and has the lead right now, BUT-----AMD is being very secretive and quiet for a reason. The merger between AMD and ATI (ATYT) will go through this fall. ATI has 65nm technology AND they are working on 45nm tech ahead of Intel. Watch for the BIG announcements from AMD in very early 2007 which will send ALL Intel employees to the toilet. Look for AMD to hit $55.00 by March/April 2007. I like your attitude redbird67! Whatever happens, I wish you good luck and fortune and thank you for commenting. Too bad your thinker is way behinder my thinker! Pete

Intel is indeed the big player here but the fact is that AMD is 'puttin a wuppin' on Intel at the moment. I see the whole industry as cyclical and the way its going at the moment AMD is poised to take a big chunk of that market share. I'm not down on Intel but the money is pointing AMDs way. How is it that AMD is getting farther behind? Up 35% since purchasing ATI and the deal isn't even consumated. AMD is going to hit the mid 40s before settling down. Not so sure about Intel I am watching Intel for a turn around- The other factor that is hard to figure in is emerging markets that can produce things even cheaper than todays players anyhow its just a call and I am stickin with it.
