As I pick it, this biotech behemoth sports multiples that reflect a steep discount to industry peers -- along with a healthy track record of growing cash flow and delivering the performance goods for shareholders.

Staff reduction is curently in progress. Look for announcement in September 2007.

My brother-in-law wroks for Amgen over 20 years, and was offered to submit a voluntary early retirement / departure package, or risk being one of the people let go without the 18 months salary (departure package benefit). His 3 management levels above him recently resigned.

This might help the stock a little in September, but I am underweight on this stock for one or two more years as their pipeline does not have any blockbuster drugs, only low demand therapies if they even move through trials and receive FDA approval. The better ones (higher profit potential) have much longer to go to reach market IMO.
