Despite the recent pop, due to falling oil prices, this beloved local company still loses money hand over fist. Until it gets costs under control, it will underperform the market, and maybe even go bankrupt (hope not).

I realize with oil going down, but even at $100 per barrell, the airlines are not profitable. Long term prospects are not good and I'm betting against their success long term.

This is the play against oil. The company has raised prices but continues to lose money because of oil. If the oil continues to drop, AMR will be a clear winner. Stock has been heavily oversold because of the fear of higher oil prices.
