I read somewhere that even when the economy isn't very good finacial companies still seem to do just fine, so I thought I'd pick one. I have money with Ameritrade, so it makes sense to go with this one.

Haha...I dont know where you read that....I mean....just look at our economy now. It has been drivendown by banks. Do heavier research before you buy.
