Electric cars are not the future. If I'm driving a car running on batteries 50 years from now then we should be ashamed. I mean come on! A battery powered car? That's technologically advanced? I don't think so! There will probably be something much more efficient than a plain old battery; perhaps we won’t even need cars. I just know one thing for sure, batteries are not the future. Another thing I don't like about this company is its terrible cash flow. The company has been losing an increasing amount of cash every year. That's not a very good business if you ask me. In fact, the company has more in CAPEX than it does in revenues. Only an idiot would invest in this trash stock.
I agree with you, but you can never count out innovation.

We have made huge technological progress over the past 100 years. I can only imagine the kind of technological advances we will see over the next 50-100 years. I'm a firm believer in innovation!
They are hemorrhaging money at the moment and I too feel that the EV market is unlikely to take off with no infrastructure in place to support them. What I do like about A123 is their technology. Their batteries are superior to anything else on the market (Developed by MIT and A123 has the patents) While EV's seem to be their currant focus, their future could be in energy storage such as the experiment they just announced going on in China with wind turbines. Also, they have dabbled in power tool batteries where they have received much praise.
bigdavred,
That's not exactly true. The infrastructure is being put in place. Not so much in US, though. Have your heard about project Better Place?
http://www.betterplace.com/ It will soon roll out EV network in a few countries as live experiment. If it succeeds, then it'll probably be
adopted in other places. I believe it uses A123's batteries.
