The previous system is modeled after Germany's educational system of the 1800s which taught disciplined soldiers and authority respecting factory workers.

Now in information age, a shortage of jobs will increase unless we increase the number of employers as machines will replace humans.
In information age we will need education to change. Education is a field that's already well embedded in our way of life under a current structure. I believe change through traditional means will take far too long.
The merger between education and technology needed to produce innovators and entreprenuers and leaders is the first way towards innovating in the previously traditionally too slow to innovate field of education. What this means is that
First there will be a growth in online education,
then there will be innovation.
It will remain a need for society, but online universities can teach for less and will ultimately be needed for humanities progress. The internet revolution will be in full swing by the time we are out of the crisis. I believe Apollo to be a pioneer and I am selecting this one over my previous favorite ESI (was selected based on quantitative reasons at ), because I believe a strong brand that is the leader in an emerging field will ultimately have the best chance at the most recognizable and sizable growth.
