From what I've read, BOA decided not to play the subprime game so I suspect they will be a survivor. If I was American, I'd probably move my account to this bank because I think some banks will go under and this one is the least likely to go under because they stayed away from the riskiest forms of lending. I have not done a lot of research to confirm what I read and sometimes not everything you read is true, or what you are reading is only a half truth. However, the financial sector has a number of banks and brokers already insolvent and the time to be protecting your wealth is now, not after the doors are closed and you have to get in line to get your money back.

If you were American you would know that your money in the bank was FDIC insured.
