BPT is an oil REIT based on the Prudhoe Bay fields in Alaska. The recent drop in the price of oil and in the price of BPT offer a buying opportunity. Dividends are consistently greater than 10%. In addition value can be increased in three obvious ways. 1) The long term secular rise in the price of oil will help. 2) the risk of a hurricane affecting oil production in the Gulf of Mexico this summer is relatively high which would raise the price of Alaskan oil. 3) Political risk in the Persian gulf could increase the price of oil from politically secure fields in Alaska.
