Pioneers R&D benefitting the major 'green' trend in light automobile production
I've seen some weird pitches here. Folks, don't be fooled, BWA is more than an "auto parts supplier." There are three elements to my BWA thesis: 1) BWA is an innovator in critical light-automobile drivetrain components; 2) BWA's core competency (if I may use corporatespeak) is in improving efficiency and reducing emissions, arguably the two largest drivers in the auto industry both today and in the foreseeable future; 3) BWA is a bit heavier in the Big 3 than I'd like, but not only are they not beholden to any one company (or any one continent), they are taking steps to further broaden their customer base.
Every time bad news for Ford or GM comes out, BWA takes a little dive. Those are classic buying opportunities, and they come almost like clockwork. This one will never, ever shoot out the lights (despite doing very well for Tom in SA), but it will be a consistent winner for as long as humans like to drive cars with internal combustion engines. (Hint: That's going to be a long time.)
