In December they took on a new CEO who said that he would be making a lot changes to the company. Now we are seeing those changes take place by him selling off debt and parts of the company. He is focused on making Citi a more profitable company by trimming the fat. Citi is just one of those companies that have always been a producer. They have met earnings estimates time and time again. With the housing slump staying steady and the CPI looking stable, Citi has only become stronger over the past 2 years. They are estimating earnings for FY 08 at about $1.00 per and looking at a earnings estimate of over $2.50 per share in FY 09. I think you will see this stock go down to between $21.00 - $22.00 per share and then start to become bullish and make a run to a new 52 week high. Don’t ever count Citi out.
