I buy a heckuva lot from Cabela's. They always do me right. Most of my gifts for all holidays come from CAB. Yeah, a lot of people would discount us as rednecks and gun toting freaks, but there's a whole bunch more folks like me. This is the Brooks Bros. for the outdoor sports crowd. Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, pet care, automotive, this place even sells adventure packages for travel. And hey, I understand the business. I "get" it. I shop there, and their excellent customer service keeps me coming back.

my wife and i worked there for a combined 7 years, watching their transformation into the corporate world. we still shop there as we live in a town with a store. tough to walk in without spending at least one BEN. their corporate financials seem to be in line as does the catalog service. however, the retail software is the same as it was 20 years ago, and the retail employees seem less and less knowledgeable about products. it is very difficult at times to find a product specialist to help leaving the college kids who fished with grandpa on sundays growing up.
