Recently blood supply to Celgene's reputation had been clamped off by analysts and the media similar to Revlimid's action toward cancer except that the analysts actions had no real merit. This of course has occured with many good stocks in the past month or two. The latest news tells me that Celgene will be around and thriving (unlike the diseases their products treat) for years to come. Celgene's total revenue increased more than 50% Year-over-year. Revlimid net product sales for 2007 increased more than 140% year-over-year!!! Revlimid's net product sales in the fourth quarter 2007 increased more than 95% year-over-year!!! Predicted revenue and earnings growth for 2008 include: total revenue to increase 30% and Revlimid revenue to increase 60% to approximatley 1.25 billion in global market sales. Events that should stategically position Celgene for more than 5 years include: Acquiring Pharmion Corporation and the impressive medicine cabinet that comes with it, Achieving Revlimid compendia listing in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma,Commercialization of Revlimid in several countries with clinical, commercial and regulatory opportunities in nearly 100 countries over the next five years, securing approval and new marketing for Revlimid in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, non-deletion 5q MDS, Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) & non-hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL), and completing approval and marketing for Revlimid and low-dose dexamethasone for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (unprecedented two-year survival rate of 87%. With aggressive and visionary company objectives such as: Completing the acquisition of Pharmion Corp., Maximize Revlimid's potential in more than 30 countries, Continuing a host of trials involving Revlimid in differnt phases to expand it's uses and approval in battling cancer, myelodysplastic syndromes, leukemia, etc., and the many promising ongoing trials involving drugs to battle myelofibrosis, multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, and solid tumors, as well as compounds to treat psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, compounds for inflammatory indications, approval of Revlimid in Australia and Canada, Filings for Revlimid in Japan, and investigation of a drug for use in placental derived stem cells, Celgene should continue to make investors and individuals suffering from these diseases quite happy over the coming years.
