CHK is an immensely cheap stock as the market does not understand the value of their newly acquired Haynesville acreage and is overly pessimistic about NG prices. CHK is currently priced for $6 NG ex its Haynesville position which is worth 50%+ of market cap.
Could not agree more.... and after the beat down today, it's time to back up the truck on these guys, and simply wait for the world to need more energy (trust me, it shouldn't take to long). Originally bought in back in Feb of 2007 at a bit over $29 a share... they're an even bigger bargain now at just under $33... gonna have to some math to determine if I should use options, or just buy shares outright... either way, in a few years I think I'll be pretty happy with my decision.
