When I was in college, I had a professor that described the ability of various managers: "a select handful can consistently beat the market, most are about par, and then a relatively large amount seem to consistently lose." Companies, I think, are the same. Some will be lifetime performers, most will return to the mean, but then there are some absolute dogs that will manage to disappoint, nearly at any price.
Chesapeake seems like one of those. Yes, it's been beat up. Yes, rising natural gas prices will boost the stock. But somehow I get the feeling that the systemic mismanagement will allow CHK to stay crappy even as natural gas gets better.
true.
I like dogs, but not dog stocks or bad management, or worse yet a government of the left trying to run profitable companies into the ground. Invent, make, and profit from our capitalism here at home in the U.S.A. The way the left (some Democrates) run the country is like the biggest charity, #!*##! This is a system that some use of FEAR or simple scare tactics to influence the young, the uninformed (not stupid), the brainwashed (some religious), and of course, the extremes of an political view. I feel that at times even the government would be better off run as a for profit business with compassion and fairness for all. "A penney saved is a penney earned" B. Franklin! More to your comment, I find that the ROEs' of companies help us pick out the winners from the dogs. Nice comment glass. Sometimes we can learn even from our maybe rants.
