According to my investment textbook, materials companies traditionally do well during times of higher inflation because the increasing price of goods brings more money for the various factors of production, such as metals, chemicals, and energy. Commercial metals are also a solid industry with a steady demand, and any such company that markets itself internationally is likely to do well with China and India in the up-and-coming.
