Founded in 1993, Compton Petroleum is a Canada-based oil and natural-gas exploration and production company. The firm primarily focuses on unconventional natural-gas deposits in southern and central Alberta. At the end of 2006, the firm had 882 billion cubic feet of natural-gas equivalent in reserves. Production averaged 199 million cubic feet of natural-gas equivalent per day in 2006.
