Just as I sold Valero to increase my Marathon holdings. I sold my Exxon holdings and increased my Conoco holdings. Although I think Valero and Exxon are wonderful companies with bright futures, I wanted fewer stocks to follow in my portfolio. Conoco has more room for growth than the other majors. As far as mergers and acqusitions go, I can see them competing with Marathon for some of the major independents in the next year. It will be interesting to see if Apache, Anadarko or Occidental are takeover targets for any of the majors this year. That might be where the money is to be made this year.
