Big oil, it's over. The governments where you are getting your oil want more of the money. Profits are going to go down. How can a few greedy rich men compete when nation pull out this-means-war-card.

Judging by your rating, you have no clue what you are talking about. People will always need gas to run their cars and homes. Hydrogen and electric cars are fantasies of the extreme loony left. Do you know what kind of environmental problems are created by all those electric car batteries? I didn't think so. And just who determines what constitutes a "greedy rich man"? Greed in nothing than someone's subjective belief that someone else has too much of something. Typical anti-capitalist rantings.

Chevron has a big problem - they have a huge old legacy oilfield mess here in the USA from their operations that went on from 1902 thru 1980. You hear alot about Ecuador and the pits there -- people haven't wised up about all of the pits that Chevron has here. I live on a large Chevron lease called the McGill Bros in South Texas. Here's an internal Texaco document from 1983 trying to figure out what to do about the pits. In the end, Chevron just buried 10,000's of pits across the southwest with no remediation. Across the region people are sick, kids have leukemia, whole neighborhoods have rare cancers. People are complaining to the EPA - soon CVX stock holders will have to pay the price.
Here's the memo
I have a website and blog and I have full access to 38,000 acres on our ranch where ExxonMobil and Chevron have operated since the 1930's. If you want to see more Chevron legacy mess - check it out

To say nothing about the company itself, more taxes on the the oil companies will not impact their operations, they will just pass that expense on to the consumer like any other business. Electric cars are going to come, but despite what some say this will not reduce the demand for oil. The only change will be that the oil will be being burned at more efficient and less polluting oil and gas power plants, and when the costs of electric vehicles go down, emerging markets will pile in more than ever before.

Anyone who TRULY knows the energy sector knows that electric cars bring with them the smart grid possibility - where more sporadic power sources such as wind and solar power become more viable, due to the ability of the grid to withdraw and deposit power from all these car batteries whenever it needs, and compensating the owners for their trouble. Read "Sustainable Energy Without the Hot Air" to learn more.

i use to pump gas when I was younger. Big oil are foreign country owned companies not our united states oil companies who rank in the teens compared to South America, the middle east and Indonesia. Dividends help many people earn more for their future lives and enriches everyone. Of course, I lost on many bets for dividends when I was not careful. In a free capitalist society, it is
'buyer beware'. Many people use oil and are employed by the oil industry.
