I think Delta will marginally outperform. They are aggressively going after the more lucrative international routes and deserve kudos for getting their heads out of bankruptcy. They have also reported strong quarterly earnings for their first reports after climbing out of the black hole. But this is the airline industry and we cannot forget the ever present fuel costs.

Delta just announced that their profit margins will be 2%--3%. also I think that in the next few years the airline industry will be doing terribly. reason being fuel prices: OPEC wont release any more oil than what they are releasing now into the market and China is taking up all the fossil fuels that they can get. For instance China is now rationing gas, and less than 1 in 30 people there have a car! I think it is safe to say that buying an airline stock (especially Delta) is a sure way to ruin your returns.
