Three D printing is a technology that is in it's infancy. Most of the applications for it's future use ( and profit centers ) haven't even been thought of yet. This area of technology is going to change the very nature of the worlds manufacturing models and give birth to a resurgence in invention and creativity by individuals that was unavailable due to the cost and infrastructure requiered by existing prototype production. Most people have not yet grasped the potential scale of this technology. They think of it in terms comparable to a desk top printer. Scaled up versions are being developed that are capable of " printing" structures . One prototype is capable of producing a residential structure ( complete with wiring and plumbing) in 20 hours at a fraction of the cost of conventional construction.In this process the only aspect of the construction that requires laborers is the installation of doors and windows. This is just one example of the areas that will be impacted by this technology. DDD is one of the leaders in this field and will continue to grow as this technology is adapted and implemented.
