great buy! Just take into consideration the amount of people that walk this earth, and then try to picture the amount of food it take to keep the people of this world alive. With that in mind, John Deer is one of the largest suppliers to farmers. Also John Deer supplies forestry equipment, and thats never going away. In addition to those types of equipment they also supply the following: residential, commercial, golf and construction equipment. So if you look at all of those things you will realize that our country uses them every day and there more than likely not going anywhere. Happy investing and good luck (tho you wont need it).

Sounds great ... but all this greatness (and record profits) is already baked into the current share price. If the US dollar reverses direction, so will DE.

No Kidding. There will always be a need for farming. This applies to farmers in North America and the Midwest of the US. This is a great buy at a great time due to the increase in food prices. This creates a counter effect on the farmers in terms of production or better yet productivity.

That depends on your time frame. If you plan to keep this stock for well over 2 years, perhaps you can gain something out of it. The company is fundamentally healthy. But we are talking about comparing the attractiveness of this stock over the other 6000 securities available to us for investing. The way I see it, for the next several months, there will be some pull back in the price, because the current business level (growth does not warrant that price level - PEG of 1.5 baby!) and this view is validated by the current bearish signals of double MA (15 and 55) crosses. Therefore, if you plan on buying and holding, please wait until the price drops further down.

Did you really just mention "investing" and "double MA crosses" in the same paragraph?

Trading at an 18 month low, now is the time to buy DE! Strong brand, world-wide sales, right sector, right markets and perfect time in the business cycle to get on board with this stock. BullDog
