I'm on my third Dell desktop, but I won't buy another one. Their customer service used to be top notch; today it's pitiful. I have family and friends that feel the same way. The customer service wait time is exorbitant. There is a frustrating and insurmontable language barrier since Dell has outsourced all customer service. My sister's Dell has "frozen" within a window of 10 seconds to 15 minutes of use each time it is used and repeated phone calls have gotten her nothing. Her one year warranty is up in less than two weeks. My top of the line desktop has a DVD player/burner with lots of bells and whistles - none of which have ever worked. Repeated calls have accomplished nothing. Dell sent out a technician (contracted, not from Dell) who replaced the DVD drive. I repeatedly asked that it be tested before he left, but was told it was unnecessary: "Look lady, your DVD drive didn't work at all and I just put in a new one so obviously your problem is solved!" I tested it after he left and it still doesn't work! Mine is only 6 months old so at least I have 6 more months in my warranty! No, I would not recommend buying Dell stock - not if they were blue lighting it! A company that no longer cares about its customers cannot thrive.
