Simpkly put it's called obsolescence. The computer is the modern version of the Smith Corona typewriter. It's a very commoditized product that has very little pricing power and it gets cheaper every year. The trend is to more mobile forms of computing with wireless. Dell doesn't have any product in it's lineup that would stop their market share loss. Their gaming machines isn;t enough to reverse their earnings downslide. Besides, if you want to play games, but a Wii console.
