DHB Industries, a holding company, is a leader in protective armor, operating through two divisions DHB Armor Group and DHB Sports Group. The Armor Group manufactures and provides bullet and projectile-resistant garments, and fragmentation protective vests, slash and stab protective armor, and related ballistic accessories, which are used by US armed forces, security personnel and government agencies. The Sports Group manufactures and distributes protective athletic apparel and equipment like knee, ankle, elbow, wrist and back supports and braces for athletes and sports enthusiasts.The US military today is required to act more quickly, battling a new kind of enemy called as terrorist. In response to specific threats, the U.S. government has been acquiring at an unprecedented rate armored up vehicles, aftermarket armor kits, combat helmets, and body armor.Very recently it received orders of $ 82 million to supply US Army with the Deltoid Axillary Protection System (DAPS) and the Enhanced Side Ballistic Insert (ESBI). These orders have been awarded to one of its subsidiaries named Point Blank Body Armor. The company anticipates that the shipment for this new orders for DAPS, which is around $ 51 million, to be completed by October 2007. The majority of contracts have primarily come from US Army and this profile is expected to continue, and also the company has significant contracts in place from US Navy, and other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Long term investors can consider this stock for better returns.
