Recs
Two of the greatest brands in the world in Disney and ESPN. They don't have economic moats, they have economic oceans. Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilms arn't too shabby either. Down 10% in the past 5 weeks. Not cheap, but a reasonable premium for a business of such quality. Looooooong term hold.
I may be closing DIS too early, but i'll take that chance.
Despite the greatest collection of intellectual property in capitalism...DIS actually isn't very good at monetizing it. 10 yr ROE avg is just 11.3%, ROI just 6.7%. Future growth probably will be in the high single digits, which isn't anything to write home about. Further, DIS wasn't that cheap when I bought it, and it's now at about 19x earnings and 25x FCF. The dividend is a measly 1.28%
DIS has been one of my best upthumbs so far, but going forward, I think it has one of the lowest future CAPs upsides in my CAPs portfolio. I'm going to lock in the +13, and may be interested is DIS's price tanks sometime in the future.
