Genentech is a great biotech company in terms of growth and demand for existing products. To my surprise, Avasin was just approved by the FDA for breast cancer treatment. With over half of eligible lung cancer patients already taking this drug, and strong pricing power, this stock should be a rewarding stock to own in this volitile market. The fact that CEO Arthur Levinson has been with the company since 1980 and that they have 3 billion in cash to help fund growth and research are nice to see as well.
