The baltic dry bulk index is back strong, meaning spot charter rates are climbing. Currently coal and fertilizer prices are spiking due to accelerating export demand meaning higher rates to come. Dry bulk shipping is a solid global growth play out to 2010 when new ships are christened and old ships are off charter contract.
