Commoditization of most telecommunications opportunities in the wholesale area has made many telecoms much more vulnerable in times of new choices in the marketplace such as VoIP and over-the-Internet calling. How worldwide network owners such as Deutsche Telekom adapt to this situation, irrelevant of the ability to sell $100/day wi-fi in Europe, is what is key.
