Offering a forum for the buying and selling of stuff, eBay is the world’s largest online marketplace.
Motley fool constantly and continuously wrongly predicts ebays success. As someone who uses ebay, paypal and skype (do they still own that?) I can tell you of the massive disorganization, improper ethics practices and general dysfunction that are not isolated incidences but endemic. But don't take my word for it, read the discussion forums in ebay and you will see a similar trend or call customer service, but before you call customer service, TRY TO FIND the customer service phone number for Ebay. In full disclosure, this was written as I am on hold for 59 minutes and counting with ebay, listening to their ONE hold song over and over and over again...
WOW! An honest comment by another eBay vendor! We've got to get this MONOPOLY under control! How do the current stock holders stand for what the current management has done to the ONCE great eBay?Was once a time that I was selling $5,000 to $7,000.00 a month on eBay, than they changed "Lead Horses", Stocks went into a landslide from the $65.00 + - per share to a low of about $15.0 - $ 18.00., Now selling on eBay is no longer a pleasant experience, nor is it nearly as profitable as it was 5 - 8 years ago!Actually I am amazed that they have risen as high as they are, with eBay's total disrespect for their vendors, and constant harassment o them.Did Meg Whitman not "commit" the Insider Trading Sin, when she sold thousands and thousands of share of her eBay stock prior to leaving her post as CEO of eBay. She and several others who were resigning at that time all DUMPED several hundred thousand shares of stock in a very short time, and the value has not recovered since.
he he. this was all true back then. not anymore though...
what song was it?
Your right all the way! Ebay was a great website, until they changed hands and let all the scam artist in to make all the poor sellers look like fools. In my opinion,it is the number one worst on line auction websites on the market.
Jim Cramer says SELL ebay. Obviously he knows something that the rest of us need to know about ebay as well...
i agree on the point of a labyrinthian website, also as a user and online seller. Nevertheless, I am a buyer of EBAY at around 50 USD
It is ILLEGAL for a corporation to allow a glitch or malfunction (the automatic five-star on shipping DSR for instance) that adversely impacts a user (many of those "purged" were only out of compliance by 1 star) to continue for an extended period of time without fixing it (ebay did and has admitted this, see Ebay Drags Heels In Fixing Automatic Five-Star DSRs article by Ina Steiner). This is a BREACH of the user agreement that ebay has with the users affected by this. PAYPAL HOLDS; many (if not most) states do not allow a hold on funds of more than 10 days. Ebay has often slapped 21-day holds on sellers' PayPal funds. A Florida man contacted the banking regulators in his state, they contacted Paypal and got his funds released. Although PayPal is not a bank, it is a money transfer entity and as such falls under the banking regulators of each state. UNLEVEL PLAYING FIELD: As has been pointed out by many people in many threads, DSRs disproportionately impact and are used against small sellers while big box retailers such as TRUS remain essentially untouched. That's also ILLEGAL. These three are right off the top of my head, thank you for asking, I am certain there's more but i will have to study the matter further. I have said many times that a good sharp legal mind needs to look at what's going on at ebay (including the user agreement). Attorney general's offices are very good at that sort of thing. I am not an attorney, but like many on here I am sharp enough to know when there are some things amiss.
