I think the break up value (which includes all patents) should be around 1 billion.
I think a takeover is possible at these levels.

Do you believe the company will get acquired? What do you think its value per share would be if it is to be acquired?

I think there is a chance. It is a major gamble of course.
My "guess" would be $3.50 per share.

But after the news today, it ain't looking good. Usually restructure spells Ch. #11.
But if you get a SIRI bailot at the last minute, then it is a hail marry.
I think the odds currently are at 5 to 1.
5 = Ch. #11
1 = being saved.
However, you never know. jmho, gl

Yeah, I bought some shares for .78 on Friday and I don't know whether to sell or hold on. Also what do you mean by SIRI bailout?
Thanks

I just read that EK's current liabilities are currently valued at $1.53 billion according to wikiinvest so even if they manage to sell their patent portfolio for $1 billion they would still have liabilities that would leave little to nothing for common shareholders.

I believe a takeover is inevitable. But that will mean breaking the company up and holding on to 'profitable' divisions. The motion picture industry has not yet fully migrated to the digital format so film cameras still need to be fed with film stock. Same goes for projections in cinemas. The motion picture industry cannot let Kodak fail.... not yet.

Thanks for your thoughts. I wouldn't say "Inevitable", but I do I think highly Likely at these levels. However, let's keep in mind that Ch.11 is more PROBABLE. Let's just keep this in perspective for the time stamp, along with PPS. Now that we have that out of the way, materials, SIRI got bailed in Jan. of 2009, that is Sirius Sat. Radio. I hate radio, and always have. I almost (and when I say almost, I mean hair-pin away) from pulling the trigger on Sirius at 0.06 just before the 'takeover' ;). Now, I wish I had (Hind Sight is 20/20, right?)...That is a diff. game than what we have here. But with free shares, ahhh? Why Not.

Speculating about kodak is really over done. Let put it in perception if stock falls in companys intrest,if stock goes up its in the stock holders intrest. Now if comapny buys back it stock on pennys on dallor its win win for company. So this case all naysayers just adding fuel to fire as stock goes down. Company has not intent ingoing broke but then they arnt ones who are suggesting it.This perfect example of wall street speculation based on rumors.Perfect storm of suggestions rumors basicly on facts of some said so on third party.Should be intresting when truth comes out december 30 rulling on patents dispute ,might be big surprise for all nay sayers

I thought you took your initial investment out and was just playing with the houses money materialsman?

It looks like BK is almost certain at this point in the game. The price is pretty low right now, so are you sure you would have anything left if you sold at this point? I'm not sure of your situation (how much invested, at what price, if it's the houses money you are playing with, etc.). Keep in mind you can write off $3K/yr on your taxes but you don't want to take a loss if possible.

Sorry I can't give you answer as I don't know your situation here.

I did take out my initial investment at 1.50 a pop. Today shares jumped 20% I might plan to sell if it goes up to at least $1 a share. I don't have too many shares just 500. What of the company's assets, aka patents, if they file for bankrupcy?

Thanks Holdthatwinner!

Btw how was you christmas and new year break. Mine was pretty enjoyable as I went up to New Jersey to visit my family and some friends and we had some quality time together.

Good luck with all you investing endeavors this year!

Best,
Danny

Danny,

It all about the patents (which are worth something) at this point. The PPS as of the close today is 0.81 so it is a tough call but if you are playing with 'free shares' why not?

The Break was incredible and the past four months have been magical. I've been in Carmel/Big Sur for the last four months and was able to visit with family for Christmas, thanks for asking and glad to hear yours was enjoyable as well.

Thanks again Danny and Good Luck.

Stephen

Stick a fork in it. It's done. Well, it was a gamble and a long shot.
C'est la vie.

1. Has Kodak's management's poison pill been removed?
http://247wallst.com/2011/11/16/investment-firm-wants-kodaks-poison-pill-killed/

Because if is hasn't, Kodak can't be taken over.

2. Kodak said that they will operate "business as usual" for which the Citibank lawyer in charge of the financing royally chewed them out for.

As things stand now, Kodak is heading for liquidation.
